A guide to earning rewards with Luno

Who can use this feature?

Rewards are currently not available to Luno customers in the UK. Referrals are not available in Uganda or in any countries in Europe.

Earn rewards in Bitcoin for referring your friends and family to Luno. Simply share your referral code and you'll both be rewarded when they sign up, enter your code, and buy the specified amount of crypto.

How to share your referral code

Every Luno account has a unique referral code, found on the Rewards screen.

  1. Once you're logged into your Luno account, select Rewards from the menu

  2. Select REFER FRIENDS

  3. Select SHARE YOUR CODE to share your sign-up link with your friends, family, or followers

  4. When someone signs up, enters your code, and buys the specified amount of crypto, you'll both be rewarded in Bitcoin 30-90 days later

  5. Collect your reward and start investing in crypto

Note

Once signed up and verified, customers must purchase the specified amount in any crypto using their Wallets (not the Exchange) to receive the Bitcoin reward.

In some countries, the number of people you can refer may be limited. Here’s all the legal stuff you need to know about earning rewards with Luno.

What to do if you’ve received a referral code 

  1. Sign up for a Luno account using the unique link sent to you

  2. Once you’ve signed in, visit the Rewards page and select ENTER CODE

  3. Enter the referral code and select APPLY CODE

  4. Buy the specified amount of any crypto using your Wallets (not the Exchange)

  5. On the Rewards screen, your pending reward will appear

  6. After 30-90 days, you’ll receive a notification that your Bitcoin reward is available

  7. Collect your reward and start investing in crypto

Note

Your Bitcoin reward will be available 30-90 days after you've redeemed it. You'll be able to track the progress of your reward and when it will be available in your Bitcoin wallet but we'll still notify you when it has arrived.

Unclaimed rewards will expire after 3 months. We urge you to visit the Luno app regularly to check when your Bitcoin is ready to claim.

If you’ve received a Luno promo code in connection with an event or campaign hosted by Luno, you’re eligible for a Bitcoin reward. To redeem your reward, follow these steps to activate the code in the Luno app:

  1. Sign up for a Luno account and verify your identity

  2. Once verified, go to the Rewards screen and select ENTER CODE

  3. Enter your Luno promo code and select APPLY CODE to redeem your reward

Success! You'll receive your Bitcoin reward in 30-90 days.


Frequently asked questions

Luno implemented a holding period of between 30 and 90 days to deter potential fraudsters who wish to abuse our rewards programs. It is an unfortunate but necessary measure that allows us to continue our rewards programs giving out rewards safely.      
You're able to track the progress of your rewards on the Rewards screen.
New customers are able to add a referral code to their account up to 30 days after they’ve signed up.
If you’ve already made your first deposit, bought or sold crypto but forgot to enter your referral code, you’ll still be eligible as long as it is within the 30-day grace period.

Note

When signing up with a referrer’s invite link, you’ll still need to enter the referrer's code in order to receive the reward.
