Why can’t I sign in to my Luno account from a different country?

Luno’s goal is to be the easiest and safest platform to invest in cryptocurrency.

When it comes to account security, some of the biggest red flags we look out for are sign-ins from outside your country of verification. This is similar to how a bank’s fraud department might flag a credit card transaction taking place in another country.

It’s true that you might be travelling internationally, but more often than not, a sign-in from a foreign country indicates that a fraudster has gained access to your account. To keep your funds safe, we’ll prevent anyone from signing in to your Luno account if they’re located in a different country.

What if I’ve moved to another country?

I have a Luno account, but I’ve moved countries and want to change currencies. What now? Follow these steps if you’d like to change your country of verification.

Our support team will need some info and documents from you to verify your account for your new country. Once that’s done, you’ll be free to continue using Luno normally.

We’re really sorry for any inconvenience caused, but hope you understand that this is a necessary measure to keep our customers safe.
