Making a bank transfer is a quick and convenient way to add funds to your Naira wallet on Luno.
How to make a bank transfer
Sign in to the Luno app
From the menu, navigate to Portfolio
Open your NGN wallet
Select Deposit
From the selection, choose Bank transfer
Enter the amount that you’d like to deposit and then select NEXT
Carefully check the guidelines to deposit successfully, then select GOT IT
Confirm the amounts, then select CONTINUE
You’ll see your unique reference code, the bank name, an account number, and the amount to transfer
- Go to your banking app and transfer the exact amount displayed here, using the correct account details
- Once you’ve made the transfer, you can come back and select I’ve made the deposit
Note
Your account details are only valid for this specific transaction and expire after one hour. Your bank transfer will have to be made within that hour.

Who can use this deposit option?
Only customers who are fully verified in Nigeria.
Navigate to Profile and select Settings to see or upgrade your Verification level.
Will I be charged a deposit fee?
Yes, a payment provider fee of 2% will be charged, capped at ₦1,200. This excludes VAT. The fee plus VAT will be automatically deducted from the transferred amount.
Are there any deposit limits?
Yes. You can deposit a maximum of ₦50 million per bank transfer. The minimum deposit amount is ₦100.
How long does it take to reflect?
Deposits will reflect in your NGN wallet in 30 minutes.
What could cause delays?
A delay in the deposit process could be caused by the following factors:
- Insufficient funds
- Processing delays on the bank’s side
- Incorrect details specified during the deposit
- The amount you transferred didn’t match the amount you entered on Luno
