If you believe that you’ve been scammed, there are some important steps you can take to prevent it from happening again:

  1. If you suspect someone else has access to your account lock and secure it immediately.

  2. Contact our support team to let us know what happened. Include any information relating to the scammer you think would be helpful, including:

    • A description of events

    • Screenshots of any conversations between you and the scammer

    • Cryptocurrency addresses you sent your money to

    • The BX reference number used if you deposited money into a Luno account that is not your own

  3. It is also very important that you report the incident to your local police so that they can investigate the matter further. Should the police require information from Luno, you can ask them to contact us directly at support@luno.com so that we can assist them in their investigation.

While it is not possible to reverse a cryptocurrency transaction, reporting these cases helps to prevent criminals from scamming more people in the future.
