Send limits only apply to personal Luno accounts, not to verified Business accounts.
As part of our anti-financial crime measures, we may limit the amount of cryptocurrency you have available to send on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Limits are calculated over rolling periods instead of calendar periods.
How rolling limits work
Your daily limit looks at sends you’ve made in the last 24 hours. In other words, if you send crypto now, it’ll count towards your daily limit for the next 24 hours.
Your weekly limit looks at sends you’ve made in the last 7 days. If you’re sending crypto today, it’ll count towards your weekly limit for the next 7 days. At present, weekly limits only apply to Europe and the United Kingdom.
Your monthly limit looks at sends you’ve made in the last 30 days. Sending crypto now will count towards your monthly limit for the next 30 days.
Keep in mind that monthly limits override weekly limits and weekly limits override daily limits.
Here's an example
Let’s pretend you have a daily limit of $1000 and a monthly limit of $5000.
Today at 9 AM, you send $600 worth of crypto.
This means:

You now have $400 remaining in your daily limit until 9 AM tomorrow

And you have $4400 remaining in your monthly limit until 9 AM in 30 days from now
Today at 6 PM, you send the remaining $400 you had left in your daily limit.
This means:

Your daily limit has been reached

But at 9 AM tomorrow, your daily limit will bounce back up to $600, because 24 hours will have passed from the time you sent $600 worth of crypto this morning

Your remaining monthly limit will be $4000 for the next 30 days
Tip
If a limit is displayed to you, choose an amount that’s equal to or smaller than the limit. If you need to send out more than the amount available, please contact our support team to increase your limits.
Send limits per region
Your send limits are tailored limits that are dynamic in nature. You can find the bandwidth of limits for your region below. It’s important to understand that as the limits are tailored, your actual limit might be lower than the maximum limit in the table.
These limits apply to crypto sends only. Even if you’ve reached the limits here, you’re still free to deposit or withdraw local currency, or buy, sell, store or receive cryptocurrency.

If you’ve only joined Luno recently or you’re a customer who we’ve provided extra safety measures for, we have some added protections in place for crypto sends. Sending crypto can be quite risky: sends are not reversible, so your funds could be lost if you send money to the wrong address or to a potential fraudster.
To help you minimise these risks, new Luno customers and specific customer groups will have a waiting period of 14 days to activate crypto sends. After that, the weekly limit below applies. There are no daily or monthly limits.
