Competition Terms
Luno Kenya Ltd (“Luno”) has agreed to run a competition (the “Competition”). Without limiting the applicability of Luno’s Terms of Use, Privacy Policy and the general Rewards and Promotions Rules, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions by participating in the Competition (the “Rules”). You agree to accept any decision made by Luno in terms of these Rules as final and binding.
- Competition Details: Luno Kenya customers who trade on the Luno exchange stand a chance to win a share of $1,350 worth of BTC (the “Prize”). The Competition will run for consecutive weeks, and each week the 5 highest volume traders will share in the Prize (the “Weekly Challenge”). The 5 winners will be selected each week after the conclusion of the Weekly Challenge.
- Competition Period: The Competition will commence on 24 February 2025 and run until 31 March 2025.
- Competition Conditions: to partake in the Weekly Challenge, you must have executed at least 3 eligible exchange trades of in the previous 7 days, and you must have traded a minimum cumulative volume of $1,000 in the previous 7 days (together the “Minimum Threshold Criteria”)

Eligibility: Participation in the Competition is limited to:
- (4.1) verified Luno Kenya customers who are 18 years or older and otherwise meet the eligibility criteria set out in section 3 of Luno's Terms of Use;
- (4.2) who trade on the Luno Exchange and have met the Minimum Threshold Criteria; and
- (4.3) the eligible exchange trading pairs are BTC/KES, ETH/KES, USDC/KES and USDT/KES.
Any accounts created using fake or fraudulent details will be excluded from the Competition. Employees of Luno or any of its subsidiaries are not eligible to enter this Competition.

Competition Prize: the Prize will be split amongst the top 5 traders based on their weekly trading volume:
- (5.1) Highest volume trader: $500 worth of BTC
- (5.2) Second highest volume trader: $300 worth of BTC
- (5.3) Third highest trader: $200 worth of BTC
- (5.4) Fourth highest trader: $150 worth of BTC
- (5.5) Fifth highest trader: $100 worth of BTC
- (5.6) Bonus incentive: the first 5 traders who achieve $1,000 in weekly volumes will receive a bonus $20 reward.
The value of the weekly Prize will be given to each winner as a BTC promo code, up to the total value of $1,350. The BTC promo code will be determined at the time that each winner redeems their share in the Prize. A customer may only win once in terms of this Competition.
- Selecting weekly winners: Participating in the Competition in the manner set out in paragraphs 3 and 4 above will automatically enter you into the Weekly Challenge. The 5 highest volume traders on the Luno Exchange will be selected each week after the conclusion of the Weekly Challenge.
- Contacting winners: Each winner will be contacted directly via Luno’s customer support channel within 5 days of the winners’ selection. Luno is not liable for any winner’s failure to receive notices for any reason whatsoever. Customers participating in the Competition must ensure that the contact details on their Luno account are correct and up to date.
- Awarding the Prize: After conclusion of the Weekly Challenge, each winner will be issued with a BTC promo code to the value of their share in the Prize, to be redeemed and paid into their BTC Luno wallet. Promo codes are non-transferable, cannot be refunded, and cannot be exchanged for cash or another product.
- Subject to change: Luno reserves the right to hold, void, cancel, suspend, adjust or amend the Competition at any time.
- Own risk: To the extent permitted by law, Luno does not accept any responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury, costs, expenses or claims (whether in contract, tort or otherwise) suffered by the entrants or winners of the competition or any third parties arising out of or in connection with entering the competition or accepting a share in the Prize.
- Personal information: Personal information will be processed in accordance with Luno’s privacy notice for the purpose of administering the Competition, for example to enter participants in the Competition, to select and contact winners, to announce winners publicly and to deliver prizes. You may exercise your right to object to Luno processing your personal information by submitting a request through our privacy rights webform.
- Governing law: These Rules shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Kenya and any disputes arising from the Competition shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kenya.
