How do I verify my BVN to withdraw funds?

In line with regulations set by the Central Bank of Nigeria, Luno is required to collect, verify, and securely store each customer’s Bank Verification Number (BVN). The BVN is an 11-digit unique identifier used to verify the identity of customers across Nigerian banks.

New and existing Luno customers can deposit money without BVN verification. However, to send crypto or withdraw from the platform, customers must first verify their BVN.

Here’s how to verify your BVN:

1. Sign in to your Luno account
2. Select Portfolio from the menu
3. Open your NGN wallet
4. Select Deposit, Withdraw or Send
5. On the next screen, enter your Bank verification number and select Verify
6. Select whether to receive OTPs via email or SMS
7. Enter your OTP

Verification can take up to 24hours. Once we’ve completed our checks, we will contact you.
