You can earn crypto rewards every time you pay with Luno Pay. We’ve introduced a crypto-back rewards programme that gives you back Tether Gold (XAUT) whenever you spend at any supported merchant.
ZARU is designed to support fast, low-cost digital payments, making it well suited for everyday transactions while helping modernise how rand-denominated value is transferred and spent.
How it works
- Crypto-back rewards: From 1 June 2026, every time you pay with Luno Pay at any supported merchant, whether in-store or online, you’ll earn 15% back in crypto rewards
- If you pay with ZARU, you’ll receive 15% of your transaction back in XAUT
- If you choose to pay with Bitcoin, Ethereum or any other supported crypto, you’ll get 5% back
- To be eligible for rewards, your purchase only needs to meet the minimum spend of R100 in ZARU
All rewards are automatically converted and credited to your XAUT wallet. If you don’t have one yet, no worries - we’ll create it for you when your reward is allocated.
Note
You must spend R100 or more to qualify, and your rewards will be capped at R500 in XAUT per rolling 30-day period or R1000 in XAUT per rolling 90-day period. Valid at all merchants that accept Luno Pay.
