How do I deposit using Capitec Pay?

Capitec Pay is a fast, safe way for Capitec customers to fund their Luno portfolio, instantly. Deposits are processed via a secure gateway, and all critical authentication happens directly within your Capitec banking app.

To deposit, start the transaction in the Luno app. You'll be directed to the Capitec platform to securely confirm the payment using your banking details or biometrics. Once approved in the Capitec app, the money is allocated to your Luno wallet immediately, allowing you to start investing right away.

Account linking requirements

Stitch has integrated Capitec Pay into its platform, so linking your account will work slightly differently:

  • You must sign in to your Capitec banking app and approve the linking when prompted.
  • There is a once-off fee of R1.00, which will be subtracted directly from your bank account to link the account.
  • Instant deposits from Capitec via Stitch are currently available for South Africans only, as your South African ID number is required for authentication.
  • Your Luno account must be verified to Level 2 or above before you can successfully link your Capitec account.

How to deposit with Capitec Pay

  1. Open Luno and select Portfolio
  2. Select your ZAR wallet and tap Deposit
  3. Choose Capitec Pay from the list of payment methods
  4. Enter the amount you’d like to deposit, then select NEXT
  5. Confirm the deposit amount and fee, then you’ll be redirected to a secure screen
  6. Approve the payment via a push notification in your Capitec banking app

All done! Your funds will be instantly credited to your Luno account once you approve the payment.
