If you’ve just signed up for a Luno account, the next step is to verify your phone number. This is usually a quick process using a one-time PIN (OTP) and helps keep your account secure. Verifying your phone number is also required before you can make your first investment. Follow the steps below to verify your number:
How to verify your number
- Sign in to your Luno account
- You will be prompted to verify your mobile number
- Choose your country dialling code and enter your mobile number, then press Next
- You’ll receive a 6-digit code sent to your phone
- Enter the code to confirm your number
Once the code is accepted, your phone number will be verified and you can continue with the next step of the verification process.
Didn’t receive the code?
If you don’t receive the SMS, tap RESEND SMS to request a new code.
If you're still not receiving the OTP, you may need to check the following:
- Have you attempted the transaction from your Luno app?
- Is there a sim card in your mobile device?
- Are you using a dual sim phone?
- Do you have a strong network connection?
- Have you checked if there are any known network issues or outages in your area by contacting your carrier's customer support?
- Have you tried turning your device off and back on, then waiting 5 minutes before trying again?
After your phone number has been verified, you’ll be able to continue setting up your account and complete identity verification before you can start buying crypto on Luno.
