Here's how to buy crypto with your card

  1. Sign in to the Luno app
  2. Select BUY
  3. Choose A crypto asset
  4. Select which crypto you’d like to buy
  5. Select ZAR wallet
  6. Select Add credit or debit card
  7. Enter your card details and select SAVE CARD DETAILS
  8. On the next screen, enter the amount you wish to buy and select Review quote
  9. Confirm the amount and fee, then Swipe to buy

Success! You’ve just bought crypto with your card.

How many cards can I save?

You can only save two cards at a time.

Will I be charged a transaction fee?

Yes. The service charge is 3.9%.

Is there a buy limit using my card?

Yes. The minimum amount is R15 and the maximum amount is R30,000 per transaction. This is separate from your current account level limits, which include the monthly and lifetime deposit limits that will be applied regardless of this card deposit limit.

How do I remove an expired credit card?

On the screen where you’re prompted to choose how you’d like to pay for your crypto, select the three dots next to the saved card and choose Remove on Android and web or swipe left to remove on iOS.

Why don't I see the option to buy crypto with my card?

You might need to increase your identity verification level. Go to Profile, Settings, then check under Verification to see your level. If you are Level 1, you won't have access to any instant payment methods, only manual bank transfers.

To upgrade your verification level, select Verification and follow the prompts from there.
