Who can use this feature?
Repeat buys are not available to Luno customers in the UK or Kenya.
A repeat buy gives you the convenience of automatically buying the crypto of your choice, at the frequency of your choice - monthly, weekly or daily.
Whether the price is high or low, letting your crypto buys run on auto-pilot means that you’re steadily building your crypto portfolio over time.
Here’s how to set it up
- Sign in to the Luno app
- Select Buy
- Choose A crypto asset
- Select the crypto you want to buy
- On the next screen, select Repeat buy under Frequency
- Then, read the info and select NEXT
- Enter the amount you want to buy and select NEXT
- Choose your frequency then the repeat date and select NEXT
- Review the information and select CONFIRM
Success! You’ve set up a repeat buy.
Funding your repeat buy
While repeat buys give you the convenience of buying crypto automatically, you’ll need to make sure that there's enough money in your local currency wallet to cover your repeat buys.
You can set up a recurring bank transfer with your bank so that you can automate the funding of your local currency wallet at Luno. You’ll just need to set it to deposit at least two days before the repeat buy is scheduled, to make sure the funds reach your Luno wallet in time. If you prefer to fund it manually, we’ll send you an alert to remind you to top up.
Tip
If you’re verified in Europe, you can set up a repeat buy using your debit card or credit card. When setting up your repeat buy, simply choose an existing card or add a new one when you’re asked how you’d like to pay. When you fund your repeat buy with a card, you won’t need to keep your local currency wallet topped up!
Viewing and managing your repeat buys
You can view any repeat buys that you’ve scheduled, at any time. Here’s how:
From your Portfolio main screen, select the wallet/s with a
Repeat buy icon
Below your balances, you’ll see a list of Repeat buys under the REPEATING header
Select any of these to view more details of your repeat buy
You can also pause, resume or remove your repeat buys. Here’s how:

If you’d like to pause your repeat buy, select PAUSE REPEAT BUY
If you want to resume a previously paused repeat buy, select RESUME REPEAT BUY
Or if you’d like to remove it completely, select REMOVE REPEAT BUY
Frequently asked questions
Can I set up multiple repeat buys?
Absolutely! You can set up as many types of repeat buy (monthly, weekly or daily) for as many of Luno’s supported cryptocurrencies as you like.

Can I pay for my repeat buys using other cryptocurrencies?
No. Currently, you can only make repeat buys from your local currency wallet (or with a card, if you’re verified in Europe). Please remember to deposit enough money into your wallet so that your monthly, weekly or daily transaction is successful.
What happens if I don’t have enough money in my wallet?
The specific repeat buy transaction won't take place, and you’ll receive an email informing you of the failed transaction. This repeat buy will be skipped and the next one will execute as planned - if you have sufficient funds in your local currency wallet.
