I've been asked to provide more information about myself and how I use my Luno account

Sometimes we need to collect additional information about our customers and your use of Luno. This is part of our continued effort to maintain first-rate anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) compliance standards.

Note

Keep an eye on your email inbox. If we require additional information from you, you’ll receive an email from us with the subject line “Important: Please verify your information.” This email will detail what we need and how you can get it to us.

To ensure the continued functionality of your Luno account, you’ll need to provide us with this information as soon as possible after receiving the email.

Requested documents

We usually ask for the following:

  1. The last 3 months' bank statements for all accounts used to deposit funds into your Luno wallet

  2. A recent proof of address (not older than 3 months). Proof of address is not required where your current address is the same as the address on your bank statements

  3. Document(s) showing the source of the funds you use to deposit into your Luno wallet. For example, if the funds in your Luno wallet were earned through employment, please provide us with proof of salary payments. Learn more about which documents to submit to verify your source of funds

  4. A photo of yourself holding your government-issued identity document, in which your face is visible and your information is easy to read

How to submit documentation

  • Reply to the email we’ve sent and attach the documents, or

  • Visit Profile and view the message with the subject line “Important: Please verify your information” in Notifications on the Luno app or website, and upload the documents there
