To avoid missing deposits, you’ll have to use your unique reference code every time you deposit funds via bank transfer. Using the wrong reference - or not using a reference number at all - can cause long delays in your funds reaching your local currency wallet.
How to copy your unique reference code
-
Sign in to Luno and select Wallets
-
Open your wallet and select DEPOSIT
-
Choose the Bank transfer option
-
Read the pop-up on the screen, tick I understand and select GOT IT
-
At the top of the screen, click on the copy icon next to your unique reference code starting with BX or LN
-
When making a deposit on your banking app, use the reference code every time you make a deposit
Note
Remember to insert your deposit reference number into the recipient or beneficiary reference field instead of your reference field. This ensures that the deposit reference appears on our bank statement. If a deposit is made with an incorrect (or missing) deposit reference number, there is no way for Luno to know which of our customer’s accounts to allocate the funds to.
If this has happened, here’s what to do if your deposit is not reflecting in your wallet.
