- Choose A crypto asset
- On the next screen, select the Once-off option
- You’ll see a list of options to pay for your crypto with. Select Add credit or debit card
- Add your card details, then press ADD CARD
- Enter the amount that you’d like to buy and select NEXT
- Review the transaction details and select CONFIRM
- Enter your Luno PIN or two-factor authentication (2FA) code, if applicable
- You’ll be redirected to a 3D-Secure Authentication screen with our payment provider Checkout.com
- Use your banking username/password/biometrics to authorise the payment
Success! You’ve just instantly invested in cryptocurrency.
A receipt and Transaction Reference will be emailed to you confirming that your payment was received by Luno. The debit will appear as Luno on your bank statement.

We accept Visa and Mastercard credit or debit cards.
What are the fees?
The service charge is 3.5% per transaction.
Can I save my card details?
Yes, you can. Our payment provider Checkout.com will securely save your card details in their Vault so that you don't have to re-enter your details every time you want to buy crypto.
How safe are my card details?
Your security is our biggest priority. We take every effort to keep our customers – and their funds – safe through first-class security and adherence to strict internal security and compliance standards. For additional security, we recommend you enable two-factor authentication on your account. Read our privacy policy for more information.
How many cards can I add?
You can add up to two cards. You can remove a card at any time. When prompted to choose how you’d like to pay for your crypto, select the three dots next to the saved card (on web or Android) or swipe the card left (on iOS) to remove it.
Is there a buy limit using my credit or debit card?
There is a limit of AUD 3,000 per transaction and the monthly limit is AUD 8,000.
Can I buy more after reaching my monthly limit?
Once you’ve reached your monthly limit, you can buy more crypto using our other available deposit methods, like bank transfers or PayID.
